Volunteer

 

Thank you for your interest in participating as a volunteer at Steamboat’s OktoberWest.  We have several opportunities for you to help out on this event. Below is a list of spots, the hours and a description of the type of work you will be doing.

Entry Point Greeter:
  You are the welcome hosts of the OktoberWest event.  We have several entry points and these volunteers will greet guests, thank guests as they leave and make sure they are not bringing food or beverages in or out of the event area.
Times: 1pm – 4pm, 4pm – 7pm

Lamb Cookoff: Much like the Entry Point Greeters, you will make sure that those entering the Lamb Cook Off area have the proper colored wristbands.  Assist participating restaurants with set up and breakdown in the area.
Times: 1:30pm – 5pm

Beer Garden: Much like the Entry Point Greeters, you will make sure that those entering the Lamb Cook Off area have the proper colored wristbands.  You may also be assigned to a brewery to help serve beer samples in the garden. .  Assist participating brewers with set up and breakdown in the area.
Times: 1:30pm – 7pm

Cashiers: Work in our General Store selling tasting steins, lamb cook off wristbands and T-shirts.
Times: 1pm – 5:30pm

Beer Sales: To serve beer, volunteers will need to be T.I.P.S. certified.
Times: 1:30pm – 7pm

Activities: Help our guests participate in some of our special activities for the day.  The COW PIE challenge pie eating contest, mechanical bull riding, and keg roping are just a few of the fun activities planned.
Times: 2pm – 4pm

Event Set up and Breakdown:
These volunteers will help prepare the site for the days event as well as help with taking it all down at the end of the day.  Duties may include setting up tents, placing tables and chairs, moving kegs and steins, placing signs and recycling bins  and hanging banners.
Times: 11:30am – 1pm and 6pm – 8pm
